Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 136:1 NLT Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
Endures Forever –
Again, Give Thanks… and why? Well, this entire psalm/song provides many reasons… but to begin with… because His Faithful Love Endures Forever!
Notice that our thankfulness is entirely dependent on God, what He does, Who He is… and not upon what we have or don’t have. Our thankfulness needs to be God-focused and not self-focused.
Self-focused gratitude is pretty rare. Primarily because we are selfish and so we are rarely satisfied! But God-focused gratitude is not contingent on our circumstances, situation, or needs.
This song reflects on Who God is and what He has done and concludes each thought with the Truth, “His Faithful Love Endures Forever”!
Reason enough, my friend, to “Give Thanks, always, in every circumstance.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Thank You, Father God, that Your Faithful Love Endures Forever!
