Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 27:66 NLT So they sealed the tomb and posted guards to protect it.
Sealed the tomb –
After they had crucified Jesus, the religious leaders went to Pilate and asked for him to seal the tomb. They feared the disciples would steal the body of Jesus to deceive everyone that He had risen.
But Pilate saw through their paranoia, and told them, ‘Seal it yourselves, and you can take a Roman guard with you.’
Jesus was dead; these leaders had killed the man who so threatened their powerful positions of leadership, and yet… they were still afraid of Him!
With good reason!
Because the grave could not hold Him!
Thank You, Lord, that nothing can restrain You. Not even death, nor the grave!
