Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 4:15-16 ESV For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
In Every Respect –
Jesus, reread it carefully, “in every respect has been tempted as we are.” In Every Respect!
Of course, we know He never gave into any temptation, He was “without sin”, but temptation – He experienced that fully, in every way!
Let us then… do this… in our time of need…
-With confidence – recognize that we are God’s chosen, adopted, dearly loved people, we can come to Him with confidence that we are accepted, cleansed, and deeply loved!
-Draw near to the throne of grace – God’s throne is a place of Grace and forgiveness.
-To receive mercy – His mercy is freely given to all who ask.
-And find grace – Grace is the undeserved favor, love, and acceptance of God.
-In time of need – Anytime, whenever we need it!!
When we are tempted, and all of us are, even Jesus was… we can turn away from the temptation and turn to the throne of Grace… and then we will receive God’s mercy, and grace, to Help us… in the time of our need!
God will help you overcome temptation, and this is how. We can turn to Him because He understands what we are experiencing… He knows “in every respect…”
Our Father, Help us to draw near to You when we are facing temptation, confident of Your help.
