Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 119:146 NLT I cry out to you; rescue me, that I may obey your laws.
Rescue Me –
There’s no place in God’s word where He says, “You made your bed, now sleep in it!” He never says, “You made this mess, you deserve it.” He doesn’t say, “It’s your fault that you are hurting, sick, abused, addicted, mistreated, neglected, misunderstood…”
Instead –
Our God has compassion for His people. Psalm 145:9 NLT “The LORD is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation.”
Our God rescues His people Psalm 68:20 NLT “Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign LORD rescues us from death.”
Consider the thief on the cross, (Luke 23:42-53) as he is dying, he says, ‘Lord remember me when You come into Your kingdom.’ and Jesus responds, “Today you will be with me in Paradise!”
He only asked… he – never – did – anything – else…
And Peter, (Matthew 14:30) as he began sinking in the sea, “cried out, ‘Lord Save!’” and Jesus did.
We don’t deserve it…
but Jesus saves.
We cannot earn it…
but Jesus saves.
Because He is Merciful and He Loves us!
Father, that You offer us salvation… that You forgive… that You adopt us into Your family… that You so thoroughly and completely Save us… we have no words!
You Alone Are God! Thank you for Your Love, Grace, and Salvation!
