Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 1:1-2a NLT Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son.
God Spoke –
This book begins with reflection, long ago… then the subject – “God spoke.”
In many different ways, He spoke to our ancestors, our people, His chosen people.
And He spoke through His chosen prophets.
Then the change occurs…
And Now… something is different…
In These final days…
God has spoken…
To us…
Through His Son!
In a sense, this clarifies the distinction between the Old Testament and the New. The Old is not wrong, not replaced, but it is… incomplete… it lays the background for, explains the history, and records the words of God… all in preparation for…Jesus… He is the rest of the story! And now, God speaks; His Word is revealed in the New Testament, only through God’s Son!
Just as all of History was completely and forever changed when Jesus appeared… in the same way… our lives are completely and forever changed when Jesus becomes our Lord.
Jesus completes the message of God. He IS The Message. He is the Very Word of God. And with His Appearance – both in history and in our lives – my friend – Everything Changed!
Thank you, Father, for Your wonderful plan. Perfectly revealed in the Bible, made clear, understandable to us, mere humans, only by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
