Today’s Encouragement is Titus 3:5 NLT He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
Because of His Mercy –
Sometimes we need a reminder… It is “Because Of His Mercy” that you and I are saved… washed clean of every sin, mistake, that we have done or was done to us. It has nothing to do with anything good or righteous that we have done! It is the opposite of what we deserve!
He. Saved. Us!
And – We are given (we cannot earn it) new birth and new life by the Holy Spirit living within us.
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
We did not deserve this gift of a new life, cannot earn it, and cannot lose it! We can neglect it, we can reject it, we can ignore it… to our immeasurable loss… by our own choice. But God will not renege on His gift!
Because of His Mercy… He has chosen to give to us, new Birth and new Life!
Father this truth is still amazing, wonderful, and…baffling…
We can only say “Yes, Lord! Thank You!”
