It Is Good –
In The Chosen, (which I highly recommend!) there’s a recurring moment when, upon waking or going to sleep, they say a prayer of thanks and praise. The exact words are not important, but the spirit of the prayer is… And this verse suggests thanks and praise for His love and faithfulness, both morning and evening.
Reminds me of the saying, “Ask Him every morning; thank Him every night.”
Now, all this thanking has gotten me thinking. I think we are meant to thank Him for everything. For the things we think are good, we thank Him; for the things we think are bad, we thank Him (Ephesians 5:20 And give thanks for everything to God). He knows what is good for us and what is destructive, we may think we know, but thankfully we know that He knows!
Of course, our thinking can easily be wrong, but our thanking Him – is always right.
It is good to give Him Thanks and Praise!
Father, help us to always come to You with an attitude of thankfulness. We are Your chosen, adopted children, forgiven, and given eternal life! No matter what else… we can always be thankful for this!
