Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 19:25-26 NLT The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked. Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
But With God –
At times we all need to remember some of the foundational truths of our faith. This is one of them. “With God everything is possible.”
Some folks say or even believe similar things, things like. “You can do anything you decide to do!” “With positive thinking, anything is possible.” “Or, if everyone just thinks good thoughts, then good will result.” “It’s good karma,” they say, or most commonly, we call it luck. “They’re so lucky”, or “If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.”
But all these ideas, and philosophies, leave out the most critical factor…
But with God…
Ignoring God’s power and presence in our life is simply blindness.
Notice how this is emphasized in scripture,
John 15:5b NLT “For apart from me you can do nothing.”
Philippians 4:13 NLT “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
John 14:13 NLT “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.”
Father God, help us to realize that Only through Your power, through Jesus… anything and everything is possible. Even salvation, rebirth, and eternal life! Help us to reject all other conflicting ideas and decide to place all our trust in Jesus.
