Today’s Encouragement is 1 Timothy 6:12b Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Take Hold –
Too often we dabble… we dabble in a little sin here and there, thinking “Hey, God forgives, right?” We dabble in our faith, we may call it ‘church’, attending ‘some’, dropping a $20 in the offering once in a while, helping out with some duty like ushering or cleanup day… not too much, we don’t want to be fanatics… just a little… just dabbling.
It isn’t going to work my friend, our dabbling… God isn’t impressed with our occasional good deeds, even though it might impress someone… He offers us His Everything… as we surrender our Everything to Him!
When we choose to Take Hold, we begin to be transformed… This “Take Hold” is going all in, total surrender, accepting everything God chooses to provide for us… including…Eternal Life!
Our relationship with God is a process, we step deeper, or shallower with Him at many points along the way… So, we have every opportunity to “Take Hold”, to recommit, to step into the deep with Him, at any time. You don’t have to prepare, or clean up your life first… He does that in us, for us, as we choose to… Take Hold!
Our Father God, we choose now, to Take Hold of everything that You have for us, to live lives devoted to honoring You… We need Your help to do this, to do anything good… and we thank You for making the way for us to turn to You at any time.
