Today’s Encouragement is 1 Timothy 1:5 NLT The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.
Filled With Love –
Paul tells his student Timothy… ‘The reason, the essence of my instruction, my message is…’
Be filled with love –
From a pure heart –
With a clear conscience –
And Genuine Faith.
Jesus clearly explained that the most important thing we can do, Love God and Love Others (Luke 10:27). Paul later affirms this (as if Jesus’ teaching needs any affirmation…) to his student Timothy.
Now, it may seem like this Love is overplayed, over-emphasized, an oversimplified concept, but certainly not – The Essential Message…
Oh, but it IS my friend! Love is the greatest thing in the world! Reread 1 Corinthians 13, 1 John 4, and remember God Himself Is Love! There is nothing in heaven nor on this earth that compares to Love!
Not the mushy, Hallmark movie, falling in and out of, selfish human type of love… but God’s Love… perfectly revealed to all of humankind… at the cross. God So Loved…
Now, we, as believers in Christ, are recipients of this Love that is greater than any other thing. And because it is even greater than any person can contain within themselves, we overflow His Love to others. It’s as natural to the believer as breathing.
Because we are ‘So Loved’… we too ‘So Love’.
Father God, as always, when we consider Your amazing, inexplicable Love, as with all of Your Truth, we are overwhelmed… You are too Wonderful… and Your Love… beyond our comprehension… Thank you for Your Love!
