Today’s Encouragement is Luke 11:1 NLT Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
Teach us to pray –
Did you realize that as an adopted child of the Living God, you can approach Him, anytime, 24/7, with any kind of prayer needs?
You aren’t annoying Him, He isn’t uninterested in your concerns, He doesn’t consider you a bother.
He loves you more than you can imagine. He is interested in what you have to say… because you are His own son or daughter. He doesn’t require a certain form or style or language. He doesn’t prefer “Thee’s and Thous”.
Because He loves us, He loves honest, sincere, believing prayer, from the heart of his dearly loved child.
In response to his disciples, Jesus taught us the Lord’s Prayer, and it is certainly the perfect prayer! Yet, we are also allowed, invited even, to pour out our hearts to God in prayer! Lamentations 2:19 NLT – “Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to him in prayer” And in Luke 22:44 we read how Jesus himself prayed “in agony of spirit.”
Any Time, Any Place, Any Situation – Pray! He hears, He cares, He loves you!
Thank You Father for allowing us the privilege of prayer! Help us to pray in every situation, always… so that You can help us. We need You Lord!
Lord I Need You
