Today’s Encouragement is Colossians 2:13 NLT You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins.
Made You Alive –
We were dead…
Then God made us alive…
With Christ…
And forgave all…
Ever think about that? We were dead… (and so, sadly, is everyone who isn’t born again). This whole world of dead people walking around, working, paying bills, living lives of futility…getting depressing, huh? But isn’t it true? Their lives, like ours were, leading to the grave, and meaningless…. This is what we are Saved FROM my friend…
And we are Saved TO – New Life! Free from the sinful nature (it’s been cut away!) even if we still sometimes fall prey to it… we are in truth, Free! And free to live a New Life beautifully described in Galatians 5:22-23a NLT “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
This is our New Life in Christ!
Father God, thank You for the gift of New Life, Rebirth, Freedom from our old sinful nature. Thank You that we are ALIVE IN CHRIST! Please produce in us this fruit of new life. We cannot; You can!
