Colossians 1:16 NLT “…for through him [Jesus], God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see- such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.”
Created For Him –
If we think of Jesus as a great man who lived 2000 years ago to show us the right way to live… we have missed the point.
Even considering Him a “manifestation of God” on earth who came to save anyone who believed in Him… is short of the full truth about Him.
He’s not some influential historical figure!
He’s not a great teacher!
He’s not the founder of a great religion!
He’s not anything that is limited!
The amazing passage in Collosians 1:15-23, exposes a portion of the unlimited nature of Jesus.
Everything was created through Him and for Him!
And John 1:2 NLT “He existed in the beginning with God.” He wasn’t passively watching God Create – everything; He was the Creator! And He created everything… For Himself!
We are made for Jesus… This is why we cannot be content, we cannot be free, we cannot be right with God or others, unless we are in a right relationship with Him, truly – In Him, Believing – In Him, Trusting completely – In Him!
He made you and me, everything, seen and unseen, for Himself!
Father God, please continue to reveal Your Truth to us; we hunger for You. We now realize that we are made for, we exist for… You, Jesus.
