Today’s Encouragement is Lamentations 3:21-24 NLT Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
I Will Hope –
An encouraging word if ever there was one. And it emerges in stark, faith-filled contrast to the darkness of its birthplace in the book of Lamentations (or Laments). The prophet pours out his grief, in greatly agonizing detail, both before and after this passage.
This truth that God’s love is faithful and never ceasing… doesn’t eliminate the human suffering and pain which Jeremiah experiences! Knowing the Truth doesn’t isolate us from the reality of life on this planet. But! Knowing the Truth of God’s power and Love… enables us, if we dare, to look beyond our circumstances, whether peaceful or tumultuous, and to Him and His Love and mercy.
And we can then choose… “Therefore, I will hope in Him!”
Thank You Father, that no matter how dark our surroundings, how painful our circumstances… we can still choose to hope and trust in You, in Your Love and Mercy.
My Hope
