Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 72:18 NLT Praise the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does such wonderful things.
Such Wonderful Things –
The LORD God, who first revealed Himself to Israel, and then to all people through Christ… He Alone does such wonderful things!
We can sometimes lose sight of this truth…
James 1:16-17a NLT “So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father”
We so often are misled! We slip into thinking that we can, by our own actions, doing things right, making smart decisions… bring about our own (and we think well-deserved) blessings. Things like going to church, reading the Bible, paying a tithe, or helping the poor… (Now these are all good, they can help must grow spiritually… but they don’t entitle us to any blessings!)
We might look to “our lucky stars” or good karma, or crystals, or our boss, or our spouse or our children, maybe a favorite pastor or author…to provide wonderful things for us… but all these will disappoint! Because… Only God, and He Alone… is our loving Father who provides whatever is good, perfect, and wonderful.
And He begins with Salvation…
through faith in Christ…
the most wonderful gift of all…
God alone is the source of everything good… and He gives graciously to His children, and none of us deserves His blessings… He gives because He Loves us.
Father God, we acknowledge that You Alone are the source of everything good, and we trust in You to provide for us, everything we need. We will accept every good, perfect, and wonderful thing from Your hand.
