I Pray For You Constantly –
Paul says this to the people of the church. People who are believers. Who have come (already) under the grace and forgiveness of Jesus.
He adds that his prayer is – that they may grow in spiritual wisdom and the knowledge of God (v17), understand the hope He has given (v18) and understand the greatness of His power for believers (v19).
He was praying that the believers would grow deeper in their relationship with God.
We pray for lots of things, don’t we? And we are permitted to do so! God doesn’t grade our prayers like a schoolteacher. And yet, spiritual growth as described beginning in verse 17, is certainly a worthy prayer!
Father God may we all be granted the wonderful gift of a growing deepening relationship with You; to know You more.
