Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 2:2 ESV For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
Nothing Except Jesus –
Sometimes in this life things all just go great! We can do no wrong and life seems like a piece of cake!
But for some of us, this just ain’t the way it is right now. Just the opposite. And at times it seems all is lost, all hope is gone, trouble is everywhere, no one is with us and. Everyone and everything seems against us!
Elisha felt this same way (1Kings 19:4), Jeremiah (chapter 20); the songwriter (Psalm 88) and Paul (1 Corinthians 1:8) wrote that he “despaired of life…”
When this occurs, and it likely will occur to each of us one day… it maybe just a moment of despair, or perhaps days, weeks or even years… in our pain, our darkest times… Jesus is still Lord.
We can look to Him. We can hope in Him! Not only for this life, but for eternity!
Jesus brought us Eternal Life… and when our suffering, pain, and trouble on this earth seems overwhelming, we can look to Him, to the Cross. He has suffered for us immeasurably. Yet He returned from death! He did this so that we can KNOW that… death is defeated.
Father God, we thank you that, “what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he [You] will reveal to us later.” Romans 8:18 NLT. We choose to place our hope, our dreams, our plans, our future in Your hands.
