Live Among Them

Today’s Encouragement is Exodus 25:8 NLT “Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them.

Live Among Them –

Before God spoke these words to Moses, shortly after the Exodus from Egypt, God did not “live among them”.  He was far off, out there somewhere.  But as He brought His people out of slavery and bondage, He made a way that He could “live among them”.  This first occurred with the tabernacle, an intricately designed tent-like structure to represent His presence, among His people.  It was a holy place, where people could encounter Him.

Centuries later, Solomon constructed a magnificent temple, for the same purpose, although no building can contain Him.

Finally, Perfectly, Eternally – the presence of God, through Jesus the Son, came to “live among them.” Matthew 1:23 NLT “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.'”

And He is Still With Us!

In His final words with His disciples, Jesus said, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.” John 14:16-17a (NLT)

Father, help us to understand and always remember that You live With us and Within us! And You are for us! (Romans 8:31)

God with Us
