Today’s Encouragement is Romans 8:9 NLT But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)
Living In You –
Everyone who belongs to Christ has the Holy Spirit living in them, (see the last sentence). As believers, when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, His Spirit comes to live within us. And He is always present.
He speaks to us in unlimited ways, reminding us of God’s Word of Truth, at times nudging us in the best direction, and at times, He can be very silent… Yet His Presence is always Living within us.
The same Spirit that lived in the Apostles and early Christians, who lived within Augustine, Martin Luther, Billy Graham and Mother Teresa… lives within you and me.
Not because we are perfect or sinless… but because we believe.
Now here’s the encouragement my friend, we have the choice – we can listen carefully for the ‘voice’, the leading, the guidance of the Spirit living within each of us by faith in Christ, or we can choose to not listen.
The more we listen, the more we hear. We grow stronger in relationship with God as we listen to the direction, counsel, wisdom of His Spirit that – Lives In Us!
Thank You Father, for Your Presence within us. You didn’t have to come live in us, but You chose to… to create a relationship with each of Your people. You are such a Good Father.
