Won’t Last Very Long

Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NLT For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Won’t last very long –

Our present troubles – they seem overwhelming at times! As if they will never end! 

We live our normal lives, doing our thing, rocking along without any big problems… until BANG, something happens… and suddenly we are in some kind of crisis.  Medical, relational, financial, something seems to take over every thought, every moment, every breath. 

And we usually begin to crumble under the stress!

We don’t have to succumb to it! No matter how bad our situation is… because we are now eternal beings, forgiven and adopted by God as our Father, set apart for His Grace, Favor, and Love. 

These troubles are small and temporary, when compared to the eternity we have before us.  So, we look, “we fix our gaze on the unseen” … “the glory that vastly outweighs them.”

Thank you Farther that our troubles are temporary, and we can fix our eyes on You, and be strengthened and encouraged, even in our present troubles.
