Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 73:26 ESV My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
But God –
Even when our human abilities, our ‘flesh and heart’ begin to fail, we just don’t have the strength, the will to go on… BUT GOD… is our strength… forever.
What comes your mind when someone says, “But God”?
There are at least two options, one perspective is a faith-filled statement like today’s verse, “But God” intervenes, or “but God” can, and “but God” has other plans!
The other option is doubt-filled… as in, “I know You want me to… but God, I just can’t!” “But God, I have to have this job;” “But God, I might get rejected”; “But God, send someone else.”
Same two words, but with very different meanings. One speaks from a position of faith and the other speaks from doubt.
We choose. Faith or Doubt. The circumstances don’t matter. The outcome isn’t important. The results are always within His power to influence… but what is our position, what do we choose to believe? Is it – “But God is for us!” or – “But God You just don’t understand!”
Father God, help us, Your saved-by-grace-alone children, to choose wisely; to choose trust in You over doubt.
Oh, But God
