Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 20:7 ESV Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
We Trust In The Name –
Our Trust, Confidence, Strength, our every Hope – is in Our God.
We may have skills, abilities, strengths… but these are not worthy of trust. We are dust (Psalm 103:14). In God alone is Strength. He alone can be relied upon. He alone is our rock, our defender.
We can try to be brave, confident, and strong… yet there are always circumstances that threaten to overwhelm us. We cannot control the weather, other people’s behavior (we often don’t control our own!), and we cannot add an hour to our life (Luke 11:25).
“Okay, okay I get it… what’s the point?”
The point is – there is Nothing we can trust in – except the Name of our God – Jesus the Christ.
This Person, Jesus, bears the Name above all Names! (Philippians 2:9) He is the only one that is worthy of our trust and our faith and our worship! No other person, idea, concept, principle, or truth in existence compares to Him!
Father, we choose, now and always, to place all our Trust in Your Name. And to pray in Jesus’ Name, presenting all that He is, and all that He has done, and ever will be.
