Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 2:16b NLT But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
The Mind of Christ –
We all want to accept God’s Truth from the Bible, even when we don’t fully understand it… that is Faith. But there’s a part of us that longs, still, to understand! Or at least to strive to understand. Such a desire draws us deeper into relationship with Him. Just as in genuinely trying to understand our spouse, we deepen our relationship.
So, what does this mean? “I certainly don’t know the Mind of Christ!” We’re quick to say this… as we think of all the wisdom, the knowledge of God and His ways which Jesus clearly demonstrated.
The preceding verses discuss the spirit of man and the spirit of God, and remind us that God’s Holy Spirit resides within us! And this Spirit knows the mind of God and Christ!
And so, we see it is undeniable… that we have, already, with us, through the presence of the Holy Spirit… the Mind of Christ! We can understand some, (certainly not all) things that are spiritually determined (v 12).
So, we can begin to understand, at least a glimmer of the unlimited power and depth of meaning in the words… We Have the Mind of Christ!
Father God, Help us to understand the wonder of this statement. Let the Mind of Christ rule our lives, today and always.
