Believed

Today’s Encouragement is Genesis 15:6 NLT And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith.

Believed –

This is the beginning of Faith, or more accurately, Salvation by Faith.  It seems that it was always God’s intention… that those who believed Him… will be saved! We got way off track when we decided we had to “do something” great, wonderful enough to be right with God! As if anyone could ever “do anything” to deserve righteousness, or right standing with God. (See also Romans 4)

Abram’s name later became Abraham, which means ‘father of many nations’ and he was the chosen father of God’s chosen people, Israel.

He also, obediently offered his only son to God… but God intervened, and this son was not killed… This son wasn’t…

Do you see my friend?

God’s plan all along has been- those who believe in Me- are my chosen people.

Just as Abraham did not refuse to offer his son, neither did God refuse to offer His Son, Jesus, to secure and establish the righteousness of everyone… who believes! 

Father God, we do believe in You!  In Jesus as our savior, in Your Word, every promise, in Your Love and Mercy for us!  Thank You Father, for making a way for us to be righteous… to be right with You. By Believing.
