Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 11:28 (NLT) Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Come to me –
We all get tired, don’t we? It may be physical, or mental, or emotional… but we do get worn down. Jesus knows. He experienced it also while He was physically here on this earth!
We all have heavy burdens to carry from time to time, it’s part of life. And yet, Jesus offers us Rest. He offers us Peace (John 14:27). And He offers this rest to all. We don’t need to clean ourselves up, to ‘get out lives in order’ before we come to Jesus. We don’t ‘do’ anything except come to Him. He will give us Rest.
Now my friend, if I offered you a million dollars, you saw it in my hand, and you trusted me… just a little bit… wouldn’t you accept it? Here is Jesus… far more trustworthy than I… offering us Rest!
Yes please!
One last thought. He doesn’t say we only get one shot. This isn’t ‘come to me one time for salvation and after that you have to take care of yourself’. No! He is always welcoming us with open arms, Grace, Love and Forgiveness. He is always Accepting us. He is always Forgiving; always Enough.
Father God, help us lay down our heavy burdens, the troubles of this life, our worries, responsibilities and even our dreams… to simply come to Jesus for Rest. You are The Source of every good thing.
