Today’s Encouragement is Acts 1:8a NLT But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-
We are Witnesses –
(continuing – Who I Am in Christ)
Notice that Jesus says that you – Will Be – my Witnesses. He does not say, “Some of you might occasionally feel led to be my witnesses.” Nor does He say, “If you’re a really dedicated and faithful follower, I will determine that you are good enough to be my witnesses.” He did not even say, “I will select some of you and give you special abilities to be my witnesses.”
Do you see it? We Are – all who believe, Witnesses of Christ! Not ‘might be’, not ‘if we choose’! We Are!
Think this was only for the 12 apostles? Some do, but this verse erases that thought, 2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT “So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “’Come back to God!’”
Ambassadors represent God to others… speaking for Christ! And Witnesses tell what they have personally seen, heard and experienced. God makes everyone who believes in Him… His own witness and ambassador!
I’m afraid there is no other interpretation my friend…
So, since we Are His witnesses and ambassadors… how then shall we live? We may be good witnesses, or poor ones; good ambassadors of Christ, or weak. Remember, there is No Condemnation in Christ (Romans 8:1)!
Father God, Help us to be Good Witnesses and Good Ambassadors for You on this earth! We need Your Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen us in order to be who You say we are!
It’s not what we think, feel or say about ourselves…What God says is Truth!
