Today’s Encouragement is 2 Timothy 1:7 “…for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
God Gave-
God GAVE – He has, now/already (not a future someday) given to us (this gift), A spirit of power, of love, and of self-control. And thankfully ‘not of fear’.
Consider this for just a moment –
You have, now/already, residing within you – the Holy Spirit, the gift of God, already given… And this is a spirit of Power. A spirit of Love. And a spirit of self-control. Already. (God said this, not me!)
Now we don’t very often “feel” like this, powerful, loving, and self-controlled… Nonetheless, is what we feel the truth? Or is God’s Word the Truth? Are you going to believe your feelings? Or God?
Lord, please reveal to us the presence of Your Holy Spirit -already- within us and enable us to live in Your power, love, and self-control! We thank You for this gift; help us to embrace Your gift!
