Today’s Encouragement is Philippians 1:6 (NLT) And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
The Good Work –
Sometimes we need to be reminded that we are a work in progress. God began the Good Work within us when we accepted Jesus as our Salvation… and He will never stop! We see in this passage that the work He is doing within us is finally finished on the day Jesus returns… not before, not when we get tired, not when we become perfect, and not when we become “good enough!”
Notice it is God doing the work… We need to be willing, accepting, and open to the work He is doing within us… but He has the plan, He knows the timing, the process, and the purpose… He’s got all that figured out. Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
His Plans – not ours; His Work – not ours.
And His Work within us is Good! Friend, we are His Masterpiece! Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Father, we need Your work within us! And we are so grateful that You have created us, and are creating within us… Your desired work. That we would become Your finished masterpiece… this is too wonderful for us to comprehend! But we say – “Thank You, Father!” Help us to be patient.
