Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 6:20a (NLT) for God bought you with a high price.
Bought –
(continuing our focus on our identity in Christ- who God says we are!)
Kinda smacks of slavery, doesn’t it? We were “bought?” But this is not intended to invoke our present-day abhorrence of slavery. Rather, it is a clear message of Ownership.
The high price God paid for each of us is the death, the blood, of Jesus. The highest price possible…
So, my friend, you and I are owned… by God Himself. And although He owns us… He still gives us the privilege of making our own choices!
Now we are His Children, His Family, and His Property! Yet we still are given the choice to serve Him or not!
Friend, we can rest securely in His ownership of our lives. He will care for His own, and infinitely better than we deserve!
Father, we accept Your ownership and we are grateful to belong to You. Keep us close Father, aware of Your ownership. Do with us as You choose. We choose to trust You.
