Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 6:17 NLT But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.
One Spirit With Him –
(for the next few weeks, we will focus on our identity in Christ- who God says we are!)
Another amazing, unbelievable description of our standing, our identity, and our place as God’s people. We are 1) Joined to the Lord! and 2) One Spirit with Him.
This aligns with the prayer of Jesus on the night He was arrested. John 17:21 NLT
“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one-as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”
We may not realize this, we may not ’feel’ it… but God’s Word is true, whether we realize, accept, or feel it. His truth is not dependent upon our feelings! Our feelings can be very misleading my friend! And I’m pretty sure the Bible says nothing about feelings!
We are “One Spirit with Him.”
We can believe, accept, and know this… even without a full understanding. We first- choose to believe Him, next- accept His Truth, and then we come to know. He will provide enough understanding, and He will reveal to us the nature of this One Spirit.
Friend, the Holy Spirit of God resides in each person who believes in Jesus. This is the One Spirit. And how that appears, looks, and ‘feels’ will vary because each of us is a unique individual.
Father God, help us to become more and more aware of, led by, and one with Your Spirit within us.
