Far Better

Today’s Encouragement is Philippians 1:21 & 23 (ESV) 1 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. I am hard-pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Far Better –

We don’t often think about or discuss this, and rarely is it taught.  Yet, it’s God’s Truth… and Paul expresses an amazing and eternal truth.  Friends… Our Life with Christ in Eternity is Far Better than this life!  Immeasurably better! 

We humanly cling to this life, as if it was all that there is… But we know, by faith, that there IS more!  We know that it is FAR Better for us to be with Christ!

I’m not saying (and neither did Paul in this passage) that we should die soon so we can be with Christ sooner… This life, however long we are here on this earth, is a breath, a mist, even less than a single heartbeat compared to our Eternity with God. 

Similarly, all the pains and troubles of this life, the emotional and mental troubles we all face in life… are erased!… There is nothing harmful, sad, or remotely unpleasant in our Eternity… Isaiah 65:17 ESV “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.”  We won’t even remember the trouble and pain of this life!

Father God, thank You for granting us glimpses of what Eternity with You is like.  As this song acknowledges, we will worship forever in Your Presence.  We will sing… an Endless Hallelujah to You Lord, our King forever!
