Today’s Encouragement is John 15:9 ESV As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.
Abide in My Love –
Some scripture is just exploding with truth!
Here Jesus reveals to us, that His love for us, that’s Jesus’ love for you and me… is the same love – that God the Father has – for Jesus!
The same Love!
Now my friend, consider what this verse says next. Abide in my Love…
God loves Jesus perfectly, without blemish or question. Of course, we know that… and Jesus loves me this I know… we know that too. Yet, we often want to put limitations on His love, don’t we? “If I’m being good’ and living right, then that’s when and why Jesus loves me.”
No! His love for us is unconditional, not related to our behavior. A loving human parent doesn’t stop loving their child when the child acts badly! And God is our Perfect Loving Father! And He and Jesus love us without regard to our behavior!
Notice finally that this verse ends with our responsibility, our choice, not a behavior but a decision… to Abide in His Love.
To Abide gives us the perspective of resting in the Faith that we are perfectly loved by God, forgiven, clean, and always within His presence… we Abide, we make our home, with His Love.
Lord Jesus, we thank You for Your Love. Help us to Abide in Your perfect Love always.
