You Don’t Understand

Today’s Encouragement is John 13:7 NLT Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”

You don’t understand –

Jesus was washing his disciple’s feet, an act of humility, service, honor, and love.  He chose to do this and to demonstrate that He came to serve (Matthew 20:28) and to prepare them for the responsibilities that lay ahead… building the church and feeding his sheep.

And this is still true for us today… we don’t understand… at least… not yet!  This is where Faith comes in my friend.  We live by Faith. We don’t understand all of God’s ways, why things happen as they do, why sorrow and suffering occur, why evil seems to prevail at times…

The book of Job reflects on these questions… why Job was allowed/caused to suffer such terrible losses in his life?  He certainly didn’t “understand now” but later he did!

But here we are assured that one day all of our questions will be answered!  “Someday you will!”

Till then we simply wait, trusting, hoping, and believing in God’s goodness, grace, and love.

Father, help us to trust You, to rest in You, always  – and especially when we don’t understand what You are doing.  We believe and we know that You do know what You’re doing… help us to rest in that truth!

Trust His Heart
