Today’s Encouragement is Proverbs 2:6-7 NLT For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
The Lord Grants Wisdom –
There are two types of wisdom. The Wisdom of God and the wisdom of the world.
God’s wisdom is defined throughout the Bible. Knowledge of Him, the written word, of Jesus Christ, the Gospel of Salvation, Grace, and Eternal Life… are essential elements of God’s wisdom.
Worldly wisdom is the sum of man’s knowledge. The elements are numerous and very diverse! Languages, cultures, history, science, philosophy, religions, medicine, law, business… and even pastimes like hunting, fishing, sports & other hobbies. These are not evil in themselves but are all vastly – Inferior – to God’s Wisdom!
Notice this scripture says, the Lord grants wisdom… it’s a gift, it is from Him. It isn’t earned, accumulated, or bestowed by universities. Wisdom is God’s gift to us. Now, we can seek it, study God’s wisdom in His Word, and so nourish our spirit in the process. All of these efforts are wise in themselves… it is Wise to Seek God’s Wisdom!
So what wisdom are you seeking?
Today’s Encouragement is simply this – The Lord Grants Wisdom!
We can simply Ask Him! He loves to give good gifts to His people! (Matthew 7:11)
Lord, we ask for the gift of Your Wisdom. Help us to have this treasure of common sense, and to walk in integrity. Shield us from the world and its wisdom and temptations. We ask in Jesus’ Name.
