Today’s Encouragement is 2 Peter 1:2 NLT May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.
Your knowledge of God –
Think with me for a minute, What is your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord?
What truths do you hold onto when you are asked, or when you ask yourself… “What is it that I believe?”
The Christian life is a growing process, and as we grow in knowing God and Jesus, we also grow in grace and peace!
There are, at least, two aspects of “knowing” here. One is knowledge about God and Christ, which is critically important, but the second is of primary importance, knowing God – in a relationship.
I know things ‘about’ my wife, and now, after 50 years together, I also know her, because of our relationship. Yet, there are still aspects of her that I don’t fully understand, and truthfully, I acknowledge that I will never fully know or understand her! I honestly don’t fully understand myself! So how could I ever fully understand God?
Yet we do know some essentials! We know:
God is Love
He is Good
He is forgiving
He is with us
He is Eternal
He is our Father
And the list goes on and on…
So, what is it my friend, that you KNOW with absolute certainty?
Those truths are the foundation of our faith!
Father, help us to stand firm on the Truths we Know… the truths You have made clear to us and that we have absolute confidence in.
