Today’s Encouragement is John 4:14 NLT [Jesus said] “But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
A Fresh Bubbling Spring –
Jesus compared ordinary well water to the “water” He gives. Clearly, He doesn’t hand you and me a glass of water to drink literally… but He is speaking metaphorically of ‘drinking’ from Him. He is like a fountain, a mountain spring, a waterfall of abundant eternal life. Water is life, without it, there is no life, for humans, plants, and animals! And Without Him, there is no real life, no eternal life!
And for us, who believe in Jesus, who put our hope and Faith in Him… there is within us a fresh bubbling spring of Eternal Life! Now, we aren’t literally overflowing with water, this is still symbolic language, yet we do overflow! We overflow with the Love of God… this fresh bubbling spring of Eternal Life fills us… and overflows to those around us… all those who can accept Jesus.
And to the many amazing blessings God has already given to us as His dearly loved sons and daughters, we can add, that we are a spring of living water, eternal life!
We may not “feel it”, we don’t “see it”, and don’t “get it” … but none of these emotional responses determine the truth! God’s Word alone is Truth!
Father God, we thank You that You are a fresh bubbling spring within us, that gives Eternal Life!
