Today’s Encouragement is John 3:17 ESV For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Not to condemn-
We’re all very familiar with John 3:16 the previous verse, yet this important addition deserves some focus. This tells us why God sent Jesus so that the world (anyone and everyone) might be saved, through Him!
In both verses 16 & 18, the belief in Jesus as the Son of God is the essential truth of our salvation. Those who don’t believe are condemned, but those of us who do believe… are not condemned! More than just ‘not condemned’ we are made righteous, fully right with God, by faith in Christ! (Romans 5:19)
Friend, this world and the evil one are always condemning us. Satan is called ‘the accuser,’ and all accusations and all condemnation come from him. Jesus declares us completely righteous even before God… because, by Faith, we are His!
Let no one condemn you, accuse you, criticize, or run you down… because all of this belongs to our enemy.
In God’s eyes, in Truth, in the perspective of the only Righteous Judge… we are now/already declared innocent, and the forgiven, cleansed, adopted sons and daughters of the Living God!
Romans 8:1 ESV There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Father God, how can we thank You enough for all You have given to us? Help us to live in the Truth, that we are innocent, born-again, free from all accusations and condemnation because of our faith in Jesus. Thank You, Lord, for saving us!
No Condemnation
