Today’s Encouragement is John 1:16 ESV For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
Grace Upon Grace –
- From His fullness (God is the source of everything, and has unlimited power to do, create, cause, limit, anything!) and from His unlimited abundance of Grace, Love, and Mercy… from this eternal supply…
- We have (now, already)
- All (everyone who accepts God’s invitation to become His)
- Received (this free gift, God’s doing not our own effort)
- Grace upon Grace.
We are given this gift of Grace, often described as undeserved favor, in unlimited abundance! Grace upon Grace… we aren’t given, just a little grace, sometimes, if we are really good and deserve it… No! His Grace is without limits! More Grace heaped upon the Grace we have already been given.
(The Amplified Bible expounds upon the scriptures with many expressions of the original language, here is this verse with that added perspective.) John 1:16 AMP “For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift].”
Father God, we cannot fully understand, much less deserve Your Grace upon Grace… but help us to accept it by Faith, as Your immeasurable gift to Your dearly loved people. Thank You for Your Grace!
