Today’s Encouragement is Luke 24:27 NLT Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
From all the scriptures-
Imagine, walking with Jesus, resurrected, and He explains, through the entire scripture… all the things concerning Himself! We call it the Old Testament, and He “took them through” … all the Old Testament (the New had not been written yet!) scriptures… explaining… that He is present in all of it!
There are very many references to the Old Testament in the New. Quotations and explanations of what many consider to be outdated, merely historical, often confusing books… but yet, Jesus is within these “Old” books! And He explained all this to these men on their long walk to Emmaus.
My friend, the God we worship, the Lord Jesus Christ, didn’t just come into existence in Bethlehem… He was with God in the beginning (John 1:1), He now is, and He will be forever! And – He is present in all of the Bible.
And what’s more – today, He is just as present, just as alive and living within us (John 17:26), as He was, and is, revealed with the entire Bible.
Father God, help us to see, to understand Christ in the entire Bible, to see, and understand that He still, forever, and now – lives in us. And that He is all we need.
