Today’s Encouragement is Haggai 1:5 ESV Now, therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways.
Consider Your Ways –
The prophet spoke God’s words to His people encouraging them to consider- to think about how they were living, how they were worshiping God.
We look in the mirror and see exactly what we expect and are looking for. We look for the wrinkles, the blemishes, the receding hairline. We are considering our appearance. We also consider our behavior, especially when we have made some mistake, upset someone we care about, or unconsciously offended… “How could I have been so careless?”
But my friend, as God’s deeply loved and freely forgiven people… we have the privilege of considering ourselves differently!
We can consider our ways in the light of God’s grace, the greatest standard of measure. And in this light, God’s grace, there is no condemnation, fault, nor flaw.
Our ways of thinking, believing, interacting with others… can be considered… and why? So that we can change! We can consider, give thought to our behavior, thought life, physical health, relationships… all… so that we can change.
How? By considering our ways, then asking, and then allowing God – to transform us. Romans 12:2a ESV “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…”
Father God, we thank You that You are transforming us into new creations. Help us to consider our ways, not with judgment, but with Grace, that we may accept the transformation You have designed for us, as Your dearly loved people.
