Your Faith May Not Fail

Today’s Encouragement is Luke 22:32 ESV “but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

Your Faith May Not Fail –

These are Jesus’ words to Peter just before his arrest. Jesus knew that Peter was going to deny even knowing him (v34) and that Peter was about to face the greatest trial of his faith.  So, Jesus lovingly reassured him… “I have prayed for you.”

Friend, we face trials and testing and troubles all the time in this earthly life… some very minor and some extremely great… but Jesus has also prayed for us, just as He did for Simon Peter here. So, we know that our faith will not fail! (See John 17:9 and 20)

“And when you have turned again…”. Jesus also knew that after Peter turned away from Him, denied Him, turned his back, and even betrayed the Son of God!… Peter would “turn again” to Him!  Yet there was no rebuke, no ‘Shame on you!’ No condemnation at all… only the clear recognition that Peter would indeed return!  And after his returning, repenting (which simply means turning back and returning to God) Peter would then strengthen his brothers…

Remember friend, we are always the chosen people of God.  We all fall short, turn away, deny, question, doubt, and we fail in every conceivable way… and yet by Faith, we can turn again to Him.  His forgiveness is truly unlimited. And Jesus has prayed for us, just as He did for Peter! So, we can be assured that our FAITH WILL NOT FAIL!

Father, we thank You that, because of Jesus, our faith will not fail.
