Today’s Encouragement is Luke 21:38 ESV And early in the morning all the people came to him in the temple to hear him.
To hear Him –
During Jesus’ time on earth, people always gathered to hear Him. His words were different from others, He didn’t condemn, but He spoke of God’s love, power, mercy for all people, and of salvation through the Son. His words were challenging, calling us to a higher way of living, honoring God above ourselves, to seek Him and pray for everything we need.
And early in the morning-
All the people-
Came to Him-
In the Temple-
To hear Him.
Friend, we can do the same! We’re invited, drawn even, to come into His presence, to open the Word of God and to hear Him…anytime, but there is something about early in the morning. It’s quiet, distractions are minimal, and the most important things are those we do first… and Hearing Him… what could be more important?
Every teacher recognizes that if you want to learn a new language, to play an instrument, or exercise regularly, setting aside a dedicated time, daily… you more quickly learn, grow, improve in that effort.
What if – we dedicated a few moments early each morning “To Hear Him?” What spiritual growth could occur in 30 days, or in a year, or in 30 years? And what could be more important than Hearing Him?
Father God, we long to know You, Your Word, Your ways, and to experience Your power, strength, and wisdom in our daily lives. Help us- to daily seek You and- to Hear You.
Speak O Lord
