Today’s Encouragement is Ephesians 2:8 ESV For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.
Your Own Doing –
We want to be independent! “I can do this!” “I don’t need anyone!” We pride ourselves in our self-sufficiency! But let’s be honest… take away our electricity, or gas for our cars – like a ‘mountain man’, living off the land. If we need no one and nothing, there’s no canned food, not even a pan, to boil water… forget our wonderful friend coffee!! You can quickly see that our self-deception runs pretty deep!
Truth is – we do need other people, and we need our God! For His Mercy and Grace and for our daily bread… and as much as we don’t want to admit it… we need others, the things they make, the things they do, and for relationships… which is an essential part of life!
Friends nothing is of our own doing! Every good thing comes from Him (James 1:17) and most important of all… His Grace… “for by Grace you have been saved!”
Thank You Father, for the Gift of Grace You have so freely given to us who have faith in Christ!
