Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. [9] For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”
Nothing like –
Is it possible my friend, that when we think we should, or must understand God, the reasons why He does this, or why He allows that… we make a grave error?
Because – God is beyond our understanding, His thoughts and His ways are “nothing like” ours!
Of course, He desires us to know about Him, and we have our best understanding about Him through Jesus, who was the “exact nature” of the Father (Heb. 1:3) … and we can know about Jesus!
Yet my friend, please understand this mystery… God Himself is far beyond our human ability to understand, His ways and thoughts are not attainable for us, not within our human capacity to understand… we are limited, He is not… A professor once told my father, “We can’t understand God, we don’t even understand ourselves!”
We live by, we follow Christ by, we believe by… Faith.
Not by our intellect, not by our limited human comprehension.
So please, let go of the false idea that you have to understand God before you can believe.
Seeking answers is a good but requiring that our every question must be answered to your satisfaction (our limited human capacity) is a basic misperception that God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, is somehow ‘subject to’ our limited human logic.
Father, help us walk by true Faith, not by our logic, understanding, or knowledge. Help us trust that You are the Answer to every question.
