Today’s Encouragement is Romans 12:2a ESV “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…”
Renewal of your mind –
As always, it is our choice. To continue our lives unchanged, even though saved by His Grace. We can then choose to grow deeper in relationship with Him, or to merely ‘cohabitate’ as many relationships do these days. But unlike marriage, our growing relationship with God leads to our transformation!
Did you notice how are we transformed? It happens when our mind is renewed, reborn, recreated, and rebuilt… the NLT reads, ‘changing the way you think’, the Amplified reads, ‘the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude]’
My friends, do you see it, do you see that He does this? We are transformed – as God changes our minds – completely, entirely… This means our minds can become free from fear, doubt, and negative questioning of God’s faithfulness… to become renewed… full of Faith, Hope, and Love, confidence in His grace and mercy, and His provision and protection of us!
It is our minds which direct our lives. And our thoughts determine which direction our lives will go, toward Christ or away from Him. Sure, there are many other directions to select from… but only this choice matters…
Father, we admit we cannot change, we cannot become like You, without Your power transforming us, changing our thinking, renewing our minds. Give us the strength to turn away from conforming to this world and its ways, and to choose to surrender to Your transforming work in our lives. We want to be Yours, Lord. Transformed into Your children.
