I Will

Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 101:1-2 NLT I will sing of your love and justice, LORD. I will praise you with songs. I will be careful to live a blameless life- when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.

I will –

This entire Psalm by David is a resolution… “I will” is repeated 10 times in its 8 verses. Notice he didn’t say, “I never have…” done this or that evil, nor, “I have always, perfectly done this.”  No, each resolution is expressed about his future… “I will,” as a pledge, a vow, a promise, as a decision.

Friend, we get to decide – how we live our life… we don’t decide all the circumstances, but we do decide how we live…

We can live angry, fearful, depressed, greedy, selfish, isolated… an endless list.  Or we can resolve, as David does in this Psalm, what we Will do!

He chose to sing of God’s love and justice, to live an upright and blameless life, and the rest of the psalm describes this decision.

We each get to decide how we live this life.  And thinking about, singing about, speaking about, focusing on God’s amazing Love for us is the pathway to a joyful, peaceful, grateful life.

Dear Master, we thank You that You have given each of us the opportunity to decide how we will live, beginning now… help us Father to live a life that recognizes and praises You, and Your amazing Love.

I Will Sing
