Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 71:14 NIV As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.
I will always –
Simple is good. Sometimes we get too caught up in explaining the gospel, elaborating, drawing conclusions, adding historical or contextual information. And it can be refreshing just to allow the Word of God to speak to us. (and yet, I write!)
This clear verse does that. The writer, probably David, decides, declares, and chooses, “I will always have hope.” “Always” implies both the present and future. Hope is a decision, not a feeling.
And he continues… deciding, declaring, choosing… without regard to his circumstances, or even in spite of the realities he was facing… “I will praise You more and more!”
My friend, we are wise to decide, to choose, how we will approach life each day. Choose Hope, Choose to Praise Him, more and more!
Regardless of our present feelings, circumstances, trials, or grief… Choose Faith in God… Hope… and Praise Him (with songs, with grateful prayer, and with conversations about what He has done and what you believe He will do.). Hope and Praise. A powerful combination of Faith.
Father God, help us to return to and to increase our Hope and our praise. You alone are our Hope, and You alone are worthy of praise. More and More, Father, help us to Hope and Praise.
My Hope
