Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 32:8 NLT The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
I Will Guide You –
Have you ever considered what your life would be like if God had not chosen you? If He hadn’t adopted, loved, led, forgiven, and saved you? Me neither…
One aspect of getting older is hindsight. Not looking backward with regret, “I should have… I shouldn’t have…” that thinking is destructive! Rather, it’s possible, as I’ve recently discovered, to look back at your life, in faith, and recognize that the hand of God – has guided you “along the best pathway for your life.”
This is a Faith exercise. Only in faith, with eyes of faith, can we see how He has, and will, guide us.
I recently recognized how close I had come to a disastrous decision… but had chosen instead, by God’s grace to say no to my own way, and yes to God’s way. I caught a glimpse of how terrible that could have been for me! And I now recognize that God’s Holy Spirit had led in “the best pathway”. I can now recall several instances in my life where He has divinely led me “along the best pathway.”
Friend, we don’t always see the disasters which we have avoided by following Jesus, but with spiritual eyes, looking back in faith, at times, we are given such a glimpse of God’s goodness to see what He has protected, guided us away from.
Father God, thank You for the guidance You provide for Your people. Grant us just a glimpse of how You have led us. Open our eyes of faith to see how kind You have been and will always be.
