Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 14:29-30 NLT “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.
Save Me Lord –
Jesus walked on the water to the disciples who were on the huge lake. The wind was blowing, and the waves were rocking the boat. It was 3am.
Peter asked Jesus to let him come to Him on the water, Jesus said “Yes”. So, Peter did. He walked on water too! We don’t know how many steps, feet, or yards he walked on the waves… but he was far enough from the boat, and close enough to Jesus, that when he became fearful of the waves, began to look around at his circumstances, he began to sink.
Sometimes we too, have strong faith, we start out strong in trusting Jesus, but then we begin to look around at the situation we are in, the troubles around us, the problems, and our faith begins to sink… we get afraid, we begin to doubt.
Peter recognized he was sinking, he was in trouble and in a split second cried out desperately to Jesus for help, “Save Me Lord!”
Friend, from personal experience, I can confirm this… All that is necessary to receive God’s help is this simple, desperate, but honest cry… “Save Me Lord!”
Regardless of your situation, you may not know what to pray, or even have the time to pray, you may have given up all hope, you may not even ‘know if you believe in God or not’… whatever your situation, when there is no way out… the answer, the solution, the best option is always… “Save Me Lord!” And “Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him” (v 31)
Immediately – Jesus Saves!
Cry Out To Jesus
