Today’s Encouragement is Philippians 2:9-11 NLT Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The Name Above All –
Perhaps we’ve missed something my friend. I had – until I recognized an additional depth in this passage. Specifically, the Name… above all…
Consider with me the greatness of His Name. What does this mean, “The Name above all other names?”
In the Bible He is appropriately named by descriptive words, words which accurately describe some aspect of Him. A few examples are King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Wonderful Counselor, Savior, Light of the World, Son of Man, Son of God, Brother, Friend, and many, many others. And yet… the Name above all names, above even all these, exalting, powerful, awe-inspiring, and beautiful descriptive names, is – Jesus.
By Faith in this One Name, we are saved, cleansed, reborn, granted eternal life!
Above all names… Jesus!
Above every name that has ever existed!
Only – Jesus!
Father God, we ask for clearer understanding of Your Truth. Help us to grasp, as much as possible, the importance of the one Name above all.
